Gilbarco Veeder-Root Certified Training Center - Trainers Bio

Spigler Petroleum Equipment. has two trainers as of 2004 to better meet the needs of our training customers.  David Blades and Tim Jancius are both Certified Trainers in the Gilbarco Certified Training Partnership Program.

David A. Blades

David has been a GVR certified service technician affiliated with the petroleum industry since 1988, which is when he attended his first Gilbarco Training Class in North Carolina (2-wire and T-12).  David became a Gilbarco Certified Trainer in October, 1999, and started holding classes in June of 2000 during the Encore/Eclipse roll out.  David attends at least 1 yearly meeting a year to maintain his status as a Senior Gilbarco Certified Trainer, as well as to receive updates on current and future Gilbarco Inc., equipment himself.

Other Gilbarco training classes that he has attended include, Gsite, TCR-G, TS-1000, Advantage, Crind, TRIND(RFID - ExxonMobil SPEEDPASS), Gsite CPU, Vapor Vac, EMC, 2 - Passport Technical Training Classes, Passport End-User Training Class, Advanced Trouble Shooting, and the Encore/Eclipse.

Making him even more of a rounded instructor in this industry David has also attended non-Gilbarco classes as well with-in the petroleum market.  Including:  Emco Wheaton (EECO-3000), Incon, Veeder Root, FE Petro, Wayne 2400, Wayne Plus/2, and Wayne Dispensers.

Other education that David has received outside the petroleum industry includes attendance at the University of Phoenix, Timonium Campus, and Villa Julie College.  David graduated from the IT Software Developers Training program offered at Villa Julie College in October of 2003 earning recognition for making the deans list, and was awarded a software developers certificate.  Starting in the Fall of 2006, David started back to school again by enrolling in a program at Mountain State University in Martinsburg, WV to obtain his Bachelors of Science in Computer Networking

The program at VJC is unique in that the courses include Visual Basic 6, VB.Net, Win NT and Win 2K Architecture, Sequel Query Language  (MS Access and MS SQL Server 2000) , HTML, UML, and Crystal Reports among others.  The usefulness of this particular training is that Gilbarco's Passport system was developed in the VB6 integrated development environment, and installed on the win NT platform, using MS SQL Server 2000, and Crystal Reports.  This training that David has received will enhance the passport training classes once Spigler Petroleum Equipment is able to present these classes to technicians for factory certification.

Timothy Jancius

Tim is the newest member of our training department becoming a trainer in 2007.  Tim has been employed by Alger Electric since 2001.  In April of 2004 he attended his first GVR certification course and obtained his Dispensing (Advantage) Systems Certification.  Since then he has obtained certifications in GSite Systems, Passport, Encore/Eclipse Dispensing Systems, and Veeder-Root.  Tim has been an invaluable member of our service department and we are looking forward to his added value to Spigler Petroleum Equipment in our technical training.
